Apply Early: Why It Matters
- Portal slows down in the last days and forms can fail.
- Your college must verify the form, then the district or state does. Each step has a cut-off.
- Rarely reopened. Most portals stop accepting forms once a scheme closes.

- Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- Bank passbook (active, Aadhaar-seeded account)
- Income certificate and caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC)
- PRC for NEC Merit and Assam state schemes
- Last marksheet, bonafide certificate, photo
How to Apply on NSP
- Open scholarships.gov.in and complete One Time Registration (OTR) with your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Log in, pick academic year 2026-27, then choose Fresh or Renewal.
- Select your scheme, fill in details and upload documents.
- Submit and save the acknowledgement slip.
- Ask your college nodal officer to verify. Track status on the portal.

Which scholarships close on 30 September 2026?
SC post-matric, OBC/EBC/DNT post-matric and NSP pre-matric renewal, as per our guides. Confirm on NSP before applying.
What is the last date for NSP scholarship 2026-27?
For most schemes it is 31 October 2026, with institute verification on 15 November 2026. Some schemes close earlier.
When do SIRISH and ST post-matric close?
SIRISH closes on 5 October 2026 and ST post-matric on 6 October 2026.
Can I still apply for Ishan Uday or NEC Merit?
Yes. Ishan Uday is open until 31 October 2026. NEC Merit renewal also closes 31 October 2026. Fresh NEC dates are notified separately on NSP.
I missed Azim Premji Round 1. What now?
Round 2 is scheduled for 10 to 31 January 2027. Existing scholars should use the renewal window.
Is Aadhaar compulsory?
Yes for NSP schemes. You need an Aadhaar-linked mobile to create the OTR, and an Aadhaar-seeded bank account for payment.
Will the deadline be extended?
Some schemes get extensions, but do not rely on one. Apply now.
