Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Passed Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • For Data Entry Operator posts in select ministries (e.g., Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution), passing 12th standard in the Science stream with Mathematics is compulsory.
  • Arts/Commerce stream candidates can apply for LDC/JSA and most DEO/DEO Grade 'A' posts, except a few department-specific DEO posts that require Science with Maths.

Age Limit

  • 18 to 27 years, as on 1 August 2026 (the age reckoning date fixed in the 2026 notification).
  • Standard age relaxation applies: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years, PwBD and Ex-servicemen categories get relaxation as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process

Tier-I (Computer Based Examination)

  • 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions across 4 sections, totalling 200 marks.
  • Negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Tier-I is a qualifying/screening stage; the final merit for most posts is based on Tier-II marks.

Tier-II (Computer Based Examination)

  • Session I: Objective sections worth 360 marks, plus a Computer Knowledge Test worth 45 marks (qualifying in nature).
  • Session II: Skill Test (for DEO posts) or Typing Test (for LDC/JSA posts), conducted on the same day — qualifying in nature.

Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted based on Tier-II performance undergo document verification by the concerned user department before final appointment.
