🌱 What Is the SIRISH Scholarship?
SIRISH is the official online application portal of the Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare (TTWD), Government of Assam, operated at sirishassam.in. The portal was launched to replace slow, error-prone paper-based applications with a single, transparent digital system for the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community of Assam.
Through one SIRISH login, the Directorate administers a wide range of welfare measures — not just scholarships. This includes school and college-level financial assistance, support for technical and professional courses, coaching support for competitive exam aspirants, grants-in-aid for women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs), and start-up assistance for self-employment. For the 2026-27 cycle, the Directorate has opened online applications for seven distinct scholarship and welfare schemes under one advertisement notice.
The Tea Tribes and Adivasi community makes up a significant part of Assam’s population, with many families historically linked to the tea garden economy across districts such as Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sonitpur, Udalguri, Nagaon, and Cachar. The SIRISH scheme exists specifically to widen access to educational support in these areas through direct, Aadhaar-linked bank transfers rather than manual disbursement.
🗂️ 7 Schemes Under SIRISH Scholarship 2026-27
The Directorate is accepting applications under seven schemes this cycle. Eligible candidates can apply for more than one scheme through the same SIRISH login, subject to each scheme’s own conditions.
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
For school-going students of the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community currently studying in Class IX or Class X, to help cover school-level expenses such as fees, books, and study material.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship
Open to students currently enrolled in Class XI, Class XII, or a Bachelor’s Degree programme.
3. Simon Sing Horo Special Post-Matric Scholarship
A special one-time award for Tea Tribes and Adivasi students who have just cleared HSLC or HSSLC examinations in the current academic year from ASSEB or an equivalent recognised board.
4. ANM/GNM & Other Technical Courses
For students pursuing ANM, GNM, para-medical, or other job-oriented technical/professional diploma or degree courses of at least one year’s duration, at government or non-government institutes.
5. Financial Assistance for Higher Studies
For students pursuing higher and technical education such as MBBS, MBA, Engineering, Law, Administration, or research programmes — in Assam, elsewhere in India, or abroad.
6. Civil Services Prelims Assistance
Financial assistance for Tea Tribes and Adivasi candidates who have successfully cleared the Preliminary examination of the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC or APSC.
7. TB, Cancer & Major Disease Grant
A welfare grant — not a scholarship — for Tea Tribes and Adivasi community members undergoing treatment for Tuberculosis, Cancer, or other major diseases. Unlike the other six schemes, this accepts applications throughout the year with no fixed closing date.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam belonging to the Tea Tribes or Adivasi community.
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹5,00,000 (income undertaking from parent/guardian required).
- Must hold an Aadhaar-seeded bank account in the applicant’s own name — Aadhaar authentication is mandatory during application.
- Scheme-specific eligibility (class, course, or examination qualified) as listed above.
- Only one valid application per candidate per scheme is considered — applying repeatedly from different Sub-Divisions for the same scheme is not permitted.

Scan every document clearly in advance and keep file sizes within the limits specified on the SIRISH portal — incorrect file formats or oversized attachments are among the most common reasons applications fail to submit.
