Eligibility – Age & Relaxation

  • Maximum Age: 29 years as on 17 Sep 2025.
  • Relaxation: OBC (NCL): +3 years; SC/ST: +5 years; PwBD: UR/EWS +10 yrs, OBC (NCL) +13 yrs, SC/ST +15 yrs; Ex-Servicemen and others as per Govt. directives.
  • POWERGRID Ex-employees: Additional relaxation up to 5 years (if applicable) — mention previous PGCIL employee number in application.

Educational Qualification (Post-wise)

  • Field Engineer (Electrical) – Post 487: Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Electrical / Electrical (Power) / Electrical & Electronics / Power Systems Engineering with minimum 55% marks + 1 year post-qualification experience in RE/DMS/ST/TLs/Substations.
  • Field Engineer (Civil) – Post 488: Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Civil with minimum 55% marks + 1 year post-qualification experience in power sector projects.
  • Field Supervisor (Electrical) – Post 489: Full-time Diploma in Electrical with minimum 55% marks + 1 year experience. (Higher qualifications like B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME are NOT allowed.)
  • Field Supervisor (Civil) – Post 490: Full-time Diploma in Civil with minimum 55% marks + 1 year experience. (Higher qualifications NOT allowed.)
  • Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication) – Post 491: Full-time Diploma in Electrical / Electronics & Communication / IT with minimum 55% marks + 1 year experience in telecommunication systems. (Higher qualifications NOT allowed.)

  • Recent passport-size photograph (50 KB, JPG/JPEG) — front facing, white/light background.
  • Signature scan (blue/black ink) (50 KB, JPG/JPEG).
  • Date of Birth proof – HSLC/School leaving certificate / Birth certificate (PDF, up to 3 MB).
  • All educational qualification certificates & mark sheets (PDF, combined up to 10 MB). Include degree/diploma and consolidated marksheets.
  • Experience certificates (PDF, up to 1 MB each) — must clearly mention period, designation & employer (post-qualification experience).
  • Caste certificate / EWS certificate (if applicable) (PDF, up to 3 MB) — in prescribed format and valid.
  • Disability certificate (if PwBD) (PDF, up to 3 MB).
  • NOC from current employer (if employed) (PDF, up to 3 MB).
  • Any other supporting documents like PRC/ domicile / identity proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID) for verification (PDF/JPG).

Important notes: (1) All uploads should be clear and legible. (2) Self-attest photocopies where applicable. (3) Do not upload password-protected files. (4) Keep originals for Document Verification (DV).

Document Format & File Size Guidance

  • Preferred photo & signature: JPG/JPEG, square or passport ratio.
  • All certificates & mark sheets: PDF (single combined PDF per group where possible) — keep each file under stated limits.
  • If you have multiple experience certificates, upload them separately (each within limit) or combine into one PDF — ensure readability.

Application Fees & Payment

  • Field Supervisor: ₹300 (UR/EWS/Others)

  • Payment mode: Online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI).
  • Keep transaction/UTR reference and fee payment receipt for future reference.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

  • Common FTE Written Test: 1 hour (additional time for PwBD candidates as per rules). MCQ based.
  • Paper Pattern: 50 Technical Questions (discipline based) + 25 Aptitude Questions (English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness) = 75 questions, 1 mark each, no negative marking.
  • Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS: 40% ; Reserved Categories: 30% (as mentioned in notification).
  • Post-wise process:
    • Field Engineer: Written Test -> Interview (minimum interview marks : UR 40% / Reserved 30%) -> Document Verification -> Merit based on Interview.
    • Field Supervisor: Written Test -> Document Verification -> Merit based on Written Test.

Salary, Benefits & Contract Terms

  • Field Engineer: Pay band ₹30,000-3%-1,20,000. Initial Basic Pay ₹30,000. Approx CTC ≈ ₹8.9 LPA (Basic + DA + HRA + Perks ~35% of Basic).
  • Field Supervisor: Pay band ₹23,000-3%-1,05,000. Initial Basic Pay ₹23,000. Approx CTC ≈ ₹6.8 LPA.
  • Increment: Annual increment ~3% on successful completion of each year.
  • Tenure: Initial fixed term 24 months (project/period whichever earlier) with up to 3 extensions of 1 year each (max 5 years).
  • Benefits: EPF & EPS, Gratuity, Medical benefits (self and family from 2nd year), Group personal accident insurance, mobile reimbursement, leave entitlements and other contractual benefits as per policy.

NSR (National Skills Registry) Requirement

Selected candidates must register with the National Skills Registry (NSR) at nationalskillsregistry.com and get profile verification (personal details, biometrics, educational & employment verification) within 3 months of joining. Failure to verify within time may lead to termination.

PwBD & Special Provisions

  • Scribe facility available for eligible PwBD candidates — as per Government of India guidelines (must indicate requirement during application).
  • Extra time allowances as per norms for PwBD candidates.
  • Reservation and relaxations as per Govt. of India rules.

Document Verification & Test Day Guidelines
