Assam MLA Scholarship (Suhrid Scheme) – 2025 Update

The Government of Assam has officially released the updated sanction order for the Suhrid Scheme (2025). This scheme aims to provide financial relief and assistance to economically weaker sections of society.

Key Provisions in 2025 Notification

  • Each MLA is allotted a specific amount under the scheme for distribution among needy beneficiaries in their constituency.

  • Financial aid can be given for:

    • Medical treatment of poor patients.

    • Educational support for students from low-income families.

    • Critical emergency needs such as accidents, family crises, or other unavoidable situations.

  • The assistance will be sanctioned strictly based on genuine need and proper documentation.

Allocation & Utilization

  • Funds are sanctioned to MLAs for disbursal.

  • MLAs are instructed to ensure fair and transparent distribution.

  • Each case must be supported by proper documents (medical certificates, educational records, income proof, etc.).

How to Apply

  1. Download and fill the application form from  Important weblinks section given below

  2. Attach the required documents such as:

    • Identity Proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.)

    • Income Certificate / BPL Card

    • Medical / Educational Certificates (where applicable)

  3. Submit it to the MLA’s office.

  4. After verification, assistance will be sanctioned directly under the scheme.

Important Notes

  • The scheme is meant only for poor and needy families.
  • False claims or misuse may lead to cancellation of benefits.
  • Priority will be given to emergency cases and meritorious but economically weak students.

      • Ration Card

      • Utility Bill (Electricity/Water Bill)

      • Income Certificate from competent authority

  • Bank Details (for direct benefit transfer):
      • Bank Passbook (first page copy)

      • Account Number + IFSC Code

  • Category-specific documents:
  • For Medical Assistance:
        • Doctor’s prescription

        • Hospital/medical bills or estimate

        • Medical certificate from recognized hospital/doctor

  • For Educational Assistance:
        • Admission receipt / fee structure

        • Bonafide certificate from institution

        • Marksheet (if applicable)

  • For Emergency/Other Needs:
        • Proof of incident (accident report, death certificate, etc.)
