- Visit the official RRB website rrb.indianrailways.gov.in and open the CEN 05/2026 application link (application portal: rrbapply.gov.in).
- Create an Account. If you registered for earlier RRB CENs (2024, 2025 or 2026), log in with the same credentials. Enter your name, parents’ names and date of birth exactly as on your 10th certificate. These details, including mobile number and email ID, can never be changed.
- Authenticate your identity through DigiLocker or Aadhaar. Candidates using other photo IDs face stricter scrutiny at every stage.
- Select one RRB only, then set your preferences for Railway zones and posts.
- Fill in qualification, category and certificate details carefully.
- Capture a live photo during the application (no pre-existing photo upload) and upload your signature.
- Validate your Aadhaar-seeded bank account for refund, submit the form and pay the fee online by 16 October 2026.
- Save or print the confirmation and note your registration number.

Tips for Assam and Northeast Candidates
- Choose your RRB with care. RRB Guwahati serves the Northeast Frontier Railway region. RRB Siliguri and RRB Malda are the other nearby boards. Once you pick an RRB it is final, and transfers to another Railway are not registered until 5 to 10 years of service.
- Exam in Assamese. You can choose Assamese as the CBT medium. Questions will be shown in Assamese and English.
- Exam centre may be outside Assam. Centres and dates depend on logistics, and requests to change centre, date or shift are not allowed.
- SC/ST candidates can opt for a free sleeper-class railway pass for the CBT, DV and medical stage.
- Cyber café or CSC help: you can apply through a Common Service Centre (find one at findmycsc.nic.in). Keep your Aadhaar, the mobile number linked to it, and your certificates ready.
- Do not apply early and hope to fix later. Name, date of birth, mobile number, email and chosen RRB are locked once your account is created.
Important Instructions
- Keep your own mobile number and email ID active until the recruitment ends. RRBs will not change them at any stage.
- Exam-hall banned items include mobile phones, watches, calculators, pens, water bottles and bags. Avoid applying henna on your hands, as it can block biometric capture.
- You write a self-declaration paragraph at the exam venue in front of the invigilator. Writing it in advance or signing in capital letters leads to rejection.
- Selection does not by itself give a right to appointment. Offers are issued by the respective Railway administrations.
- RRBs do not appoint agents or coaching centres. Never pay anyone for a railway job. Use only the official RRB websites and beware of fake sites.
