Admission into B.Tech courses at Golaghat Engineering College (GEC) for the 2026-27 session is conducted through Assam CEE Counselling by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam.

In partial modification of the earlier notice dated 07.08.2026, candidates who have selected “Freeze” for their allotted seat in the 1st Round of Assam CEE Counselling at Golaghat Engineering College must report for final admission as per the schedule below.

Candidates who selected “Upgrade” or “Upgrade within the same institute” should report only after the 2nd counselling result is declared. Candidates newly allotted seats in the 2nd Round of Counselling must also report after that result is declared.

Golaghat Engineering College (GEC) is a government engineering institute located at Amagor, Golaghat, Assam. Established in 2018, the college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and spread across a campus of about 44 acres. GEC offers four-year B.Tech programmes and admits students through the Assam Combined Entrance Examination (CEE), with counselling managed centrally by DTE, Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Minimum 17 years as on 31 December 2026. There is no upper age limit.
  • Residency: Candidate must be an Indian citizen holding a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam. Non-PRC candidates may apply only under the Central Government Employee (CGE) quota with proof of permanent residency from their home state.
  • Academic Qualification: Passed 10+2 in a single sitting with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in the qualifying subjects, passing separately in theory and practical, as per AICTE norms.
  • Alternate route: Candidates holding a 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology from the State Council for Technical Education, Assam, with 45% (40% reserved category) marks are also eligible.
  • Entrance Score: A valid rank in Assam CEE-2026 is mandatory.
  • Candidate must be of good moral character and physically/mentally fit.

Documents Required for Counselling

  • Age proof as per the Information Brochure
  • Photo ID proof (PAN / Driving Licence / Voter ID / Aadhaar / Passport / 12th Admit Card / Ration Card)
  • Class 10 marksheet and certificate
  • Class 12 marksheet and certificate
  • Diploma/Degree certificate, if applicable
  • Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam, or PRC application receipt with undertaking
  • Caste/category certificate, if applicable
  • Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate for OBC/MOBC-NCL candidates, valid till 31 March 2026
  • EWS certificate and income certificate, valid till 31 March 2026, for EWS quota candidates
  • NCC/Sports certificate for quota candidates
  • PwD (UDID) certificate, where applicable
  • Community certificate for Koch-Rajbongshi, TGLC/Ex-TGLC, Tai-Ahom, Moran, Matak, and Chutia communities under OBC/MOBC-NCL
  • CGE quota supporting documents, as applicable
Counselling Fee: ₹800 (non-refundable), payable online at the time of form submission. If the fee is deducted but not reflected in the portal, candidates should wait 24 hours before contacting the helpline with transaction details.
