Age Relaxation (Easy-Read)

Age must be calculated from HSLC / Matriculation Admit Card or HSLC Passed Certificate only. Other documents will NOT be accepted.

Post-wise Educational Qualification

• Sub Inspector (UB): Graduate (Arts/Science/Commerce).
• Sub Inspector (Communication) — APRO:
  • B.Sc. (Electronics Science / IT / Computer Science) (10+2+3) or
  • 3-year Diploma (Electronics/Telecommunication/IT/Computer/Instrumentation/Computer Engg) + 2 years work experience or
  • 3-year Diploma + 2 years additional course(s) in Telecommunication/IT/Computer or
  • MCA or B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines.
• Station Officer & Squad Commander: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM).
• Assistant Jailor: Graduate (Arts/Science/Commerce).
• Sub Inspector (AB): Graduate (Arts/Science/Commerce).
• Constable (AB): HSLC (10th) or equivalent.

Medical

• Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health; free from physical deformities and diseases likely to interfere with duties. No colour-blindness or squint allowed.
• Eye sight: Distance vision 6/6 for one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other without correction; near vision normal.
• Varicose vein considered temporary disqualification; weight for Assistant Jailor proportionate to height & age per medical standards.

Selection Process

SI (UB), SI (Communication), Station Officer, Squad Commander, Assistant Jailor

1. Written Test — 100 MCQs on OMR, 1 mark each, negative marking 0.5 for wrong answers. Subjects: Logical reasoning, Aptitude, English comprehension; History & Culture of Assam & India; General Knowledge. Paper languages: Assamese/Bodo/Bengali/English.
2. PET & PST — Shortlisted in order of merit at rate of 5× vacancies per category based on written marks; PET carries 40 marks.
3. Medical Examination after PET; PST (height & chest) (no marks).
4. Oral / Viva-Voce — Max 5 marks; candidates called at rate of 2× vacancies on merit (written+PET).
5. NCC Weightage — Maximum 5 marks (C:5, B:3, A:2).
6. Final Merit = Written (100) + PET (40) + NCC (5) + Viva (5) = 150 marks.

Commando (SI AB & Constable AB)

1. PET & PST — Primary stage; shortlisted at rate of 5× vacancies per category based on PET marks. PET carries 80 marks for males and 60 marks for females.
2. Written Test — For SI (AB) only: 100 MCQs, 1 mark each, negative marking 0.5.
3. Psychometric Test — For SI (AB) & Constable (AB), maximum 20 marks; candidates called at 2× vacancies.
4. Medical Examination & PST after PET (PST carries no marks).
5. Final Merit:
   • SI (AB) Male: Written 100 + PET 80 + Psychometric 20 = 200 marks.
   • SI (AB) Female: Written 100 + PET 60 + Psychometric 20 = 180 marks.
   • Constable (AB) Male: PET 80 + Psychometric 20 = 100 marks.
   • Constable (AB) Female: PET 60 + Psychometric 20 = 80 marks.

Exam Pattern & PET Details

Written Test (SI UB group & SI AB)

• 100 objective questions; 1 mark each; total 100 marks. Negative marking: 0.5 marks per wrong answer.
• Subjects: Logical reasoning, Aptitude, English comprehension; History & Culture of Assam & India; General Knowledge. Paper languages: Assamese/Bodo/Bengali/English.

PET — SI (UB) Group (Total 40 marks)

• Male: 1600 m Race — 20 marks (300 sec or less = 20 marks; marks decrease per notification; >450 sec disqualified).
• Male: Long Jump — 20 marks (minimum 335 cm; marks scale up to 500 cm = 20 marks; <335 cm disqualified).
• Female: 800 m Race — 20 marks (160 sec or less = 20 marks; >240 sec disqualified).
• Female: Long Jump — 20 marks (minimum 244 cm; marks scale up to 389+ cm = 20 marks; <244 cm disqualified).

PET — Commando (SI AB & Constable AB)

• Male (Total PET = 80): 4800 m Race (20); Long Jump (20, min 365 cm); Chin-ups (20, min 4); 100 m Race (20).
• Female (Total PET = 60): 2800 m Race (20); Long Jump (20, min 265 cm); 100 m Race (20).

All PET events conducted under CCTV surveillance; RFID timing where specified. Detailed scoring tables are in the official notifications.

Documents — Upload & Carry Originals

• Recent passport-size photograph (max 450 KB; JPG/JPEG/PNG).
• Signature (black/dark blue ink on white paper; scanned; max 100 KB).
• Proof of age — HSLC Admit Card / HSLC Passed Certificate (only acceptable document for age calculation).
• Required educational certificates & mark sheets (Graduation/HSLC/B.Sc./Diploma/MCA/BE-BTech where applicable).
• Employment Exchange Registration Card (Assam).
• Aadhaar Card.
• Caste certificate (if applicable) — issued by Competent Authority of Govt. of Assam only.
• Sports certificate for sports-reserved posts (where applicable) — Competent Authority verification required.
• Discharge Book & Identity Card for Ex-Servicemen (if applicable).

Originals must be produced at PET/PST/document verification; no documents accepted after completion of PET/PST. Documents must be issued on or before last date of submission (16-01-2026).

How to Apply — Steps

1. Register once on SLPRB application portal. Do not generate multiple Application IDs (candidature will be cancelled if multiple IDs found).
2. Register with name exactly as per HSLC certificate; enter father & mother names correctly; use valid mobile number.
3. Provide Employment Exchange number, highest qualification details, permanent district, gender, caste/category, date of birth, Aadhaar number.
4. After registration, Application ID will be generated — keep it safe. Login using Application ID or registered mobile number + DOB.
5. Apply for relevant advertisement, upload documents, select post preferences (if applicable), fill personal & academic details, generate OTP and download acknowledgement slip.
6. One-time edit available for 5 days after last date (subject to SLPRB approval).

Final Merit & General Instructions

• Final merit for SI (UB) group: Written 100 + PET 40 + NCC 5 + Viva 5 = 150 marks.
• Final merit for SI (AB): Male 200 marks; Female 180 marks. Constable (AB): Male 100 marks; Female 80 marks.
• Shortlisting ratios: PET/PST and written stages use 5× posts rule; viva/psychometric use 2× posts rule.
• No T.A./D.A. admissible for journey/stay during any stage. Selected candidates required to undergo training and sign agreement to serve minimum 3 years or refund training/travel expenses if in default.
• Candidature will be rejected for misrepresentation, fake documents or multiple attempts; final appointment subject to satisfactory police verification & final medical report.
