Quick Highlights ST Scholarship 2025-26

Objective of the Scheme

The Special Incentive to ST (P) Meritorious Students scheme has been introduced to motivate deserving tribal students who have performed exceptionally well in their studies. Through this initiative, the Government of Assam seeks to ensure that brilliant ST (Plain) students continue their higher education without facing financial constraints.

The scheme recognizes hard work and academic excellence and rewards students based on their achievements in board and university examinations.

Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for this incentive must strictly meet the following criteria:

Community Requirement:

• The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribes (Plain) category of Assam. Students from other categories are not eligible.

Academic Qualification:

• Applicants must have secured the following minimum percentage marks in their respective qualifying examinations:
1. HSLC (Class 10): 80% or above
2. Higher Secondary (HS, Class 12):75% or above
3. Graduation: 70% or above
4. Post-Graduation: 65% or above

Institution Requirement:

• Students must be studying in recognized institutions within Assam or elsewhere in India.

Academic Year:

• The incentive is applicable for results declared during the academic session 2025–26.

Documents Required

Students need to upload clear and valid scanned copies of the following documents while applying online:

• Aadhaar Card
• Digital Caste Certificate (ST Plain)
• Marksheet of the recently declared examination (must be duly countersigned by the Head of Department / Principal)
• HSLC Admit Card (as proof of age)
• Passport-size Photograph
• Signature (scanned in JPG/PNG format)

Note:Ensure that all uploaded documents are clear, readable, and genuine, otherwise the application will be rejected.

Benefits of the Scheme

1. HSLC (Class 10): One time Financial benefit upto Rs.10,000
2. Higher Secondary (HS, Class 12):upto Rs.15,000
3. Graduation: upto Rs.20,000
4. Post-Graduation: upto Rs.25,000

The selected students will receive a financial incentive directly credited to their bank account (amount as per government norms).

• Last Date to Apply : 31st October 2025
