What it is: A Central scholarship to help meritorious students from low-income families continue secondary education. Launched in 2008.
Who can apply?
- Class VIII students in Govt/Govt-aided/local body schools.
- Parental income ≤ ₹3,50,000/year.
- Minimum 55% in Class VII (50% for SC/ST).
- Not eligible: Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya, most residential/private schools.
Selection & Exam Pattern
- Mental Ability Test (MAT): 90 MCQs (reasoning/critical thinking).
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): 90 MCQs (Science, Social Studies, Maths).
- Qualify with 40% aggregate (32% SC/ST).
Continued eligibility (after award)
- Score ≥55% in Class IX & XI, and ≥60% in Class X (relaxation for SC/ST).
- Scholarship discontinues if student drops out or repeats a year.
- Awardees must open bank account (SBI/public sector preferred).

- Before Apply Make OTR On NSP Portal
- Visit NMMS Scholarship Exam 2025 .
- Fill NMMSS form.
- After completing all these steps, candidates must pay application fee as per their category
- At the end, submit the form.
