ITEP 2026 Assam Admission Timeline Released

The Directorate of Higher Education, Kahilipara, Guwahati has issued Notification No. E-675584/5 dated 10th July 2026, notifying the admission timeline for ITEP-2026 admissions across all concerned participating institutions of Assam. All candidates seeking admission to ITEP 2026 in Assam are required to strictly follow the schedule and instructions given in the official notification.

Mandatory Registration on the Official Portal

All candidates seeking admission to ITEP 2026 in Assam are required to register on the official ITEP-2026 Admission Portal at:

Auto-Fetching of NCET Scores

Candidates are informed that their NCET examination scores will be automatically retrieved by the Admission Portal upon entry of their NCET Registration Number, followed by OTP-based validation. Candidates are not required to manually enter or upload their scores.

• Enter your correct NCET Registration Number on the portal.
• Complete OTP-based validation using your registered mobile number.
• Your NCET score will be auto-fetched from NTA records.
• It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the NCET Registration Number entered is correct and corresponds to the examination registered for ITEP admission.

Admission as per Institutional Policy

Admissions to ITEP-2026 at all Participating Institutions in Assam shall be carried out in accordance with the respective University and Institutional admission policies, as duly approved by the Competent Authority and notified on the official websites of the concerned Institutions and on the Admission Portal. Candidates are advised to carefully read the applicable Institutional admission policy of their preferred college or university before submitting their application.

What is ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Programme)?

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) is a 4-year dual-degree undergraduate programme introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which combines a Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.) with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in a single integrated course. It replaces the earlier 3-year Graduation + 2-year B.Ed. route, allowing students to become professionally qualified school teachers in 4 years instead of 5, saving both time and cost. On successful completion, students receive a dual-major degree combining a chosen academic discipline with professional teacher training, along with grounding in pedagogy, psychology, foundational literacy and numeracy, as required under NEP 2020.

About NCET (National Common Entrance Test)

Admission to ITEP is done through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Qualifying in NCET is mandatory for seeking admission to the 4-Year ITEP programme in participating Central/State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs and Government Colleges across India, including those in Assam.

How to Apply for ITEP 2026 Admission in Assam?

1. Visit the official ITEP-2026 Admission Portal: assamadmitep.samarth.ac.in.
2. Register using an active email address and mobile number — the same ones used during NCET registration.
3. Log in and enter your correct NCET Registration Number.
4. Complete OTP-based validation to auto-fetch your NCET score.
5. Select your preferred participating institution(s) and programme (B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed./B.Com. B.Ed.) within the Registration and Programme Selection window (10–16 July 2026).
6. Wait for the First Merit List and check your allotment status on the portal.
7. If allotted a seat, complete admission formalities at the concerned institution as per its admission policy within the given window.
8. If not allotted in the first list, wait for the Second and Third Merit Lists, or the Spot Admission round.
