About the Scholarship

The Combined Merit Scholarship 2025-26 is offered by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam to support meritorious male students pursuing General Degree or Master Degree courses in Arts, Science, or Commerce under Government/Provincialized Colleges or State/Central Universities of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum qualifying marks required:
  • 60% in Higher Secondary Final Year for Degree Scholarship.
  • 60% in General Degree Course for Master Degree Scholarship.
• Only male students pursuing 1st Semester General Degree or Master Degree (Arts/Science/Commerce) in Govt./Provincialized/State/Central University are eligible.
• Applicant must be a domicile of Assam.
• Must have a valid and active bank account in applicant’s name (preferably SBI).
• Scholarship will be disbursed through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
• Selection based strictly on merit and limited as per budget allocation.
• Incomplete or incorrect forms, or inactive bank accounts, will lead to cancellation.

Scholarship Amount

• Undergraduate (U.G.) Students: ₹450 per month
• Postgraduate (P.G.) Students: ₹500 per month

How to Apply Online

1. Visit the official website: dhe-operations.assam.gov.in
2. Register and fill in all required details carefully.
3. Upload scanned copies of required documents.
4. Submit your online form before the last date and take a printout.
5. Submit the hard copy to your College/University Registrar/Principal along with documents.
6. Institutional authorities will verify and forward applications to the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019 by 6th December 2025.

Ensure your bank account is active and details are correct to avoid DBT rejection.

• Last Date of Application: 20th November 2025
• Institution Submission Deadline: 6th December 2025

Documents Required

• Recent passport-size photograph
• Bank Passbook (with IFSC and Account Number clearly visible)
• Marksheets and certificates (HS Final or Degree)
• Domicile Certificate of Assam
• Admission proof (College/University ID card or Fee receipt)
• Valid mobile number and email ID
