AIIMS NORCET-11 Recruitment 2026

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the official notification for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET)-11 vide Notice No. 103/2026 dated 24.07.2026. This national-level recruitment drive invites online applications for 2,218 tentative Nursing Officer (Group-B) posts across AIIMS New Delhi and other participating AIIMS institutes/central government hospitals. Eligible male and female nursing candidates can apply online from 24 July 2026 to 13 August 2026.

Vacancy Details (Category-wise)

A total of 2,218 vacancies for Nursing Officer have been announced (provisional and subject to change) across 27 participating AIIMS institutes and allied central government hospitals.

Institute-wise, the highest vacancies are at ESIC New Delhi (523), followed by AIIMS Deoghar (223), AIIMS Patna (201), and AIIMS Bhubaneswar (197). The exact institute-wise breakup for all 27 locations is given in the official notification PDF.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years of age as on the last date of application, i.e. 13 August 2026. Age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per Government of India norms.

2. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

• B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institute, OR
• Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing, OR
• M.Sc. Nursing, OR
• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds, after obtaining the qualification.

In all cases, candidates must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council. Experience (for GNM candidates) is counted after declaration of result and Council registration.

Application Fee

SC/ST candidates who appear for the examination get their application fee refunded after declaration of results, subject to verification of category certificate. Payment is accepted online only, via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of a two-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and a medical examination.

Stage I – Preliminary (Qualifying only, not counted in final merit)

• 100 objective-type MCQs (approx. 80 from Nursing subjects + 20 from General Knowledge, Reasoning & Aptitude)
• Qualifying percentile: UR/EWS – 50, OBC – 45, SC/ST – 40, with an additional 5 percentile relaxation for PwBD
• Candidates equal to 5 times the total seats in each category will be shortlisted for Stage II

Stage II – Mains

• 160 questions divided into four sections, including case-scenario based practical clinical MCQs
• Final merit list is prepared strictly on Stage II performance

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer in both stages.

Tie-Breaking Rule (in order): (1) Fewer wrong answers in Stage II, (2) Higher marks in Stage I, (3) Fewer wrong answers in Stage I, (4) Older candidate by date of birth, (5) Alphabetical order of name.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed as Nursing Officers under Pay Level 7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with a starting basic pay of around ₹44,900/- per month. Including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance, the gross monthly salary typically works out to ₹55,000/- or more, along with standard central government benefits such as NPS and medical facilities.

3. Register using a valid mobile number and email ID, or log in using your existing OTR (One Time Registration) ID if you have registered previously.
4. Fill in qualification, address, and experience details.
5. Pay the application fee online (debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI).
6. Log in again to select your preferred NORCET exam centres.
7. Upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and scanned left thumb impression in the prescribed format.
8. Review, submit the completed application form, and take a printout for your records.
