Why Was the CRE-5 Re-Exam Announced?
The original CRE-5 CBT was conducted from 25 to 27 July 2026 across 59 group codes covering administrative, technical, nursing, engineering, laboratory, and pharmacist posts. Following the exam, AIIMS decided — based on the recommendations of an Expert Committee and with the approval of the Competent Authority — that the test for 7 specific Group Codes would need to be conducted afresh. As per the official notice, the examination already held for these 7 group codes will not be considered for preparing the final merit list; only the performance in the re-exam will count. Candidates under the remaining group codes are unaffected and their recruitment process continues as normal.
Group Code, Post & Shift-Wise Re-Exam Schedule
A separate question paper will be prepared for each group, and a maximum of two group CBTs will be conducted in a single shift. The complete group-wise schedule is given below:

Important Instructions for Candidates
- A separate admit card is issued for each shift. Carry the admit card for the relevant shift along with a valid original photo ID proof to the exam centre.
- The exam centre is allotted based on the earlier DRA Notice No. 93/2026, the candidate’s preference in the application form, and availability of computer nodes/logistics. AIIMS will try to allot the same centre for candidates applying to multiple groups, but the centre may differ while remaining within the same city.
- Providing false information — such as a false PwBD status to evade fees, or false category/qualification details — will be treated as malpractice/use of unfair means and can lead to cancellation of candidature and penal action.
- The admit card is issued provisionally, without scrutiny of eligibility, category, or experience at this stage. Candidature can be cancelled later if any discrepancy is found.
- Changes in exam centre, date, or shift are not permitted under any circumstance — such requests will not be entertained.
