- Candidates can modify details entered in the application except the "Create an Account" details (name, mobile number, email ID as originally registered) and the chosen RRB — these are locked and cannot be changed at this stage.
- Each modification carries a non-refundable fee of ₹250 per occasion.
- Candidates who did not apply by 14 August 2026 cannot use this window to submit a fresh application — it is for corrections to existing applications only.
Next scheduled step: After the modification window closes on 26 August, a separate Scribe Details Submission window (27–31 August 2026) opens for PwBD candidates who require a scribe for the CBT/CBAT, as per Para 14.8–14.14 of the detailed CEN. RRB Guwahati (NFR) Vacancy – Highlight for Assam / NE Candidates
Candidates from Assam and the Northeast who applied under RRB Guwahati (Northeast Frontier Railway zone) should note that only one RRB could be chosen per candidate, and this choice is locked — it cannot be changed even during the ongoing modification window.

RRB & Zone-Wise Vacancy Details (All India)
Out of the 119 total vacancies, 5 are reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ExSM). There is presently no backlog vacancy for PwBD candidates against this post, though PwBD-LD candidates (OA, OL, SD & SI without Neurological/Limb dysfunction) are eligible to apply against their respective community vacancies.
Age Limit & Age Relaxation
The age of candidates was reckoned as on 01.07.2026. The prescribed age for the post in normal course is 20 to 33 years.

Educational Qualification & Medical Standard
- Educational Qualification: A Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. Candidates awaiting their final year/semester results were NOT eligible to apply.
- Medical Standard: A-2 — candidates must meet the visual acuity standard of Distant Vision 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (no fogging test) and Near Vision Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses, along with normal colour vision, binocular vision, night vision and myopic vision.
- Important: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct refractive error are not eligible for the post of Section Controller.
Application Fee (For Reference)
Fee refund is credited only to the bank account seeded with the candidate's Aadhaar number, and is processed automatically after the candidate appears in the CBT. The fee payment deadline (16 August 2026) has now passed — candidates who submitted a form but did not pay in time should check with their RRB regarding application status.
Selection Process
The recruitment process for Section Controller consists of four stages:
- Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) — Screening stage. Date not yet announced.
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) — Shortlisting at 8 times the vacancies (RRB-wise), based on CBT merit.
- Document Verification (DV) — Shortlisting at 1:1 ratio of vacancies, based on combined CBT (70% weightage) + CBAT (30% weightage) merit.
- Medical Examination — As per Medical Standard A-2.
Important: Only candidates who pass the CBAT are considered for the final merit list. There is no negative marking in CBAT, but CBT carries negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer. CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test)
- Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies (community-wise) will be shortlisted for CBAT based on CBT merit.
- CBAT questions and answer options are available only in English and Hindi.
- Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery to qualify — this applies uniformly to all categories, with no relaxation.
- There is no negative marking in CBAT.
- Candidates must produce the Vision Certificate (Annexure VI/VI-A) in original at the time of CBAT, failing which they will not be permitted to appear.

Scribe Details Submission (27–31 August 2026) — For PwBD Candidates
PwBD candidates who require a scribe for the CBT/CBAT should refer to Para 14.8 to 14.14 of the detailed CEN 03/2026 for scribe eligibility, and submit their scribe's One-Time Registration (OTR) Number during the window from 27 August to 31 August 2026, once the modification window closes. An OTP will be sent to the scribe's registered mobile number as part of this process.
