The DARPAN online admission portal is live for students seeking admission into Universities, Degree Colleges, Senior Secondary Schools and Higher Secondary Schools under ASSEB across Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification

  • Must have passed the HSLC (Class 10) Examination 2026 from ASSEB (Division-I) or any other recognized State/National Board.
  • Students seeking admission after a gap must approach their institution directly for verification (Gap Permission Certificate has been discontinued since Session 2025–26).

  • HSLC Marksheet (scanned copy, JPG/PNG, max 1 MB)
  • Passport-size Photograph (JPG/PNG, max 1 MB)
  • Caste Certificate — SC/ST/OBC/EWS (if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  • TGL / Ex-TGL Certificate (if applicable)

Note: Physical verification of documents will be conducted by the institution at the time of admission.

Selection Process

  1. Institutions verify online applications submitted through DARPAN portal.
  2. Institutions prepare category-wise Merit List and Waiting List.
  3. Provisional Selection List / Waiting List published on DARPAN portal (25 April 2026, 10 AM).
  4. Students accept admission offer online (25–27 April 2026).
  5. Students visit institution for physical document verification.
  6. Institution confirms admission on DARPAN portal (28 April – 8 May 2026).

Allotment Basis: Seats are allotted based on academic performance in the HSLC/Matriculation Examination.

How to Apply Online

  1. Visit darpan.ahseconline.in or ahsec.assam.gov.in.
  2. Click on "Students Corner""Register a New Account".
  3. Enter personal details, HSLC credentials and a unique mobile number. Create a 6-digit login PIN and register.
  4. Log in and visit PROFILE TAB to edit your profile (can be edited only once).
  5. Select your preferred stream/course and apply to up to 5 institutions in order of preference.
  6. Upload required documents (photograph, marksheet, certificates).
  7. Review all details carefully and click Submit.
  8. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
  9. After 25 April, log in to check the provisional selection list and accept your admission offer.
  10. Visit your chosen institution for physical document verification to complete admission.

Important Guidelines for Students

  • Applications must be submitted online through DARPAN portal only. Offline admission is not allowed.
  • A student can apply to a maximum of 5 institutions.
  • Profile can be edited only once via the Profile Tab — before merit list preparation.
  • After the selection list is published, candidates can approve only one institution for admission.
  • Students can change their preferred subject(s)/stream at the time of admission with institution's consent.
  • If you do not accept the admission offer within the stipulated time, you will be removed from the Selection List with SMS notification.
  • If you do not apply to any institution within the stipulated portal window, your profile will be disabled.
  • Each student must use a unique mobile number. The same mobile cannot be used for multiple applications.
  • Gap Permission Certificate has been discontinued since 2025–26. Students with a gap must consult their institution directly.
  • Selected students will be notified via SMS and through the DARPAN portal.

Important Guidelines for Institutions

  • After application verification, institutions must prepare the Selection List and Waiting List and publish it on the portal.
  • Physical verification of documents is mandatory at the time of HS First Year admission.
  • Once a student accepts the offer, institution must click "Confirm Admission" using Institution Login ID daily, latest by 08/05/2026.
  • Stream/subject changes can be made with student's consent and must be updated in the portal on the day of admission.
  • Institutions must not admit students without their consent.
  • Institutions are not allowed to enroll students through other institutions.
  • Admissions must be confirmed for students from enlisted boards only.
  • Fine of ₹5,000/- per day for failing to confirm admissions within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Gap cases must be verified directly by the institution — do not refer to ASSEB, DIV-II.

When does the DARPAN portal open?
The portal opened on 12 April 2026. Last date to apply is 22 April 2026.

Is there any application fee?
No application fee. The Government of Assam is expected to continue the fee waiver for 2026–27 (official confirmation awaited).

How many institutions can I apply to?
A maximum of 5 institutions. You can accept admission to only one institution.

Is offline admission allowed?
No. All admissions must be done through the DARPAN portal only. Offline admission is not permitted under any circumstances.

Can I change my subject/stream after admission?

How will I know if I am selected?
The provisional selection list will be published on DARPAN portal on 25 April 2026 at 10:00 AM. You will also receive an SMS on your registered mobile.

Can the same mobile number be used for multiple students?
